If you would like to hold a portion of your savings in US currency, the ECU US Dollar Account is
for you. The US account is a savings account with no chequing privileges. You can access the
account a variety of ways: through the purchase of a US money order, US travellers cheques, or a US
funds credit union cheque. Though ECU is a cashless credit union, you may also make a cash
withdrawal if you provide us with sufficient notice. You may also transfer funds from your US
Dollar Account to another account at the credit union.
US Account Details:
- Interest is calculated daily, paid monthly
- No ATM/POS access, pre-authorized debits or bill payment access
- Tiered rate structure: higher balance=higher interest rate
- Funds are accessible at any time through ECU Cheque, travellers cheques, money order or by transferring to your ECU chequing/savings account
