Dennis Daub, former CEO of the Education Credit
Union for 31 years, officially retired in 2011. ECU is a financial
institution formed by two former WRDSB teachers in 1972 as a co-operative
alternative, designed for school board staff and their families. Dennis’ association
with the credit union dates back to the year it was formed, when he
worked for the Waterloo Region District School Board. He served on
the ECU Board of Directors until he assumed the role of General Manager
in 1979.
Dennis is
a staunch supporter of continuing education, and it is in his name that we
offer a scholarship to WRDSB students interested in furthering their education
in the business/financial field.
Candidates must:
- Have applied to a recognized business/finance program of
an accredited college or university.
- Be enrolled in or graduated from, a WRDSB
secondary school.
